Blonde Brownies

| 1 cup flour | 1/3 cup butter |
| 1/2 tsp baking powder | 1 cup brown sugar |
| 1/8 tsp baking soda | 1 egg, beaten |
| 1/8 tsp salt | 1 Tblsp vanilla |
| 1/2 c walnuts, chopped | 1/2 c white mini chips |
Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add nuts; mix well; set aside. Melt butter; add brown sugar; mix well. Cool slightly; add egg and vanilla. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients. Stir in chocolate chips. Pour into 9-inch square pan and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.

| 1/2 cup maple syrup | 1/4 cup butter |
| 8 oz. cream cheese | 1/2 tsp maple flavoring |
| 1/2 cup brown sugar |
Combine syrup and butter; cook over low heat until butter melts. Stir in brown sugar until dissolved and remove from heat. Beat in cream cheese and maple extract until smooth; heat again. Serve brownies with vanilla ice cream and pour sauce over all.
