Peel and cut up 3-4 potatoes and 1 large onion; boil until tender. Drain water; mash potatoes and onion. Add milk until consistency desired; add 1 cube margarine or butter. For a more rich, creamy soup, use 1/2 cream and 1/2 milk or all cream with no added butter. Heat; salt and pepper to taste.
