1 1/3 cups flour | 1/4 tsp salt |
3/4 tsp cinnamon | 1/2 cup brown sugar |
3/4 tsp ginger | 1/2 c shortening |
1/2 tsp baking powder | 1/2 cup boiling water |
1/2 tsp baking soda | 1/2 cup molasses |
1/2 tsp allspice | 1 egg slightly beaten |
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease bottom only of 8 or 9-inch square pan. Combine first 7 ingredients in large bowl. Add remaining ingredients; blend well. Pour batter into pan. Bake for 25-35 minutes or until done. Makes 9 servings.
