2 cups sugar | 2 cups oatmeal |
1 cup shortening | 2 cups raisins |
2 eggs | 1 tsp salt |
2 cups fruit* | 3 1/2 cups flour |
2 tsp soda | 2 tsp nutmeg |
2 tsp cinnamon |
*Fruit could be applesauce or stewed rhubarb (blended fine) or any cooked and blended fruit. Mix sugar, shortening, eggs, fruit, and soda. Add oatmeal and raisins. Sift and add salt, flour, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Form into cookies and bake at 425 degrees for 10 minutes. These are very moist cookies.
