Fruit Cocktail Cake

1 egg, beaten | 1/2 cup sugar |
Can fruit cocktail | 1/2 tsp salt |
1 cup flour | 1 tsp soda |
Mix undrained fruit cocktail with egg. Mix dry ingredients and add to fruit cocktail mixture. Put in greased 9 x 9-inch pan. Before baking sprinkle with 1/2 cup brown sugar and 2/3 cup chopped nuts. Dot with butter. Bake 30-45 minutes at 350 degrees. Good served with ice cream or heavy cream.
