Double Chocolate Cookies

1 c soft butter | 1 tsp soda |
1 c white sugar | 1/2 tsp baking powder |
1 c brown sugar | 3 cups flour |
3 eggs | 1/2 cup cocoa |
1 tsp vanilla | 1 c nuts, chopped |
1/2 tsp salt | 2 c chocolate chips |
Mix butter and sugars; add eggs and vanilla and beat until fluffy. Add dry ingredients, then nuts and chocolate chips. Drop by leveled scoops on large cookie sheet, flatten slightly, and bake at 350 degrees for about 14 minutes or until tops are fairly firm. Let cool in pan for 2 minutes to continue baking centers of cookies. Put out on rack. Makes 3 dozen large cookies.
