1 1/2cups flour 3/4 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 cups oatmeal 1 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp salt 2 cubes margarine, melted


Mix together and press 2/3 to 3/4 of this mixture into a 9 x 13-inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. While this is baking, unwrap a bag of Kraft caramels (about 50). Mix caramels with 1/2 cup evaporated milk and melt in the microwave. (Watch carefully to make sure it doesn't burn.) Pour this in the 9 x 13 pan as soon as it comes out of the oven. Next sprinkle with 1/2 pkg milk chocolate chips. Take the remaining oatmeal mixture and flatten by teaspoonsful with your hands. Place over the chocolate chips covering as much area as possible. Bake another 15 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool and cut into squares. My kids love these!
