1 cup sugar 4 Tblsp cornstarch
2 cups hot water 3 beaten egg yolks
3 Tblsp vinegar 1 Tblsp lemon extract
Pinch of salt 1 Tblsp butter
2 drops vanilla


Heat water reserving 1/2 cup. Mix cornstarch, sugar, and salt; add reserved water and egg yolks; mix. Add to hot water. Add other ingredients except butter. cook until thick; add butter. Pour into baked pie shell. Make meringue out of remaining egg whites; brown in oven; cool.
