1 cup sugar | 4 Tblsp cornstarch |
2 cups hot water | 3 beaten egg yolks |
3 Tblsp vinegar | 1 Tblsp lemon extract |
Pinch of salt | 1 Tblsp butter |
2 drops vanilla |
Heat water reserving 1/2 cup. Mix cornstarch, sugar, and salt; add reserved water and egg yolks; mix. Add to hot water. Add other ingredients except butter. cook until thick; add butter. Pour into baked pie shell. Make meringue out of remaining egg whites; brown in oven; cool.
