Soft Sugar Cookies

1 cup butter | 1 tsp vanilla |
2 cups sugar | 1/2 tsp soda |
2 eggs | 4 tsp baking powder |
1 cup cream or milk | 4 1/2 cups flour |
1/2 tsp salt |
Cream butter and sugar; add eggs and beat well. Add cream/milk and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients together and add to creamed mixture. More flour will probably be needed as it is quite sticky. Do not use more than 6 cups total or cookies will be tough. Roll out on floured surface to 1/2-inch thickness. After cutting cookies, put on lightly greased cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 14-17 minutes.
