Oatmeal Coconut Cookies

1 cup butter | 1 tsp soda |
1 cup white sugar | 1/2 tsp baking powder |
1 cup brown sugar | 1/2 tsp salt |
3 eggs | 3 cups flour |
1 tsp vanilla | 1 1/2 cups coconut |
1 1/2 cups oatmeal | 1 cup chopped nuts |
Mix butter and sugars; add eggs and vanilla and beat until fluffy. Add dry ingredients, then nuts, oatmeal, and coconut. Drop by leveled scoops on large cookie sheet; flatten slightly, and bake at 350 degrees for about 14 minutes or until tops are fairly firm. Let cool in pan for 2 minutes to continue baking centers of cookies. Put on rack. Makes 3 dozen large cookies.
