2 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups Karo syrup
1 cup water


Bring sugar, Karo syrup, and water to boil in heavy pan (I use my large, heavy fry pan). Wash down crystals on the side. Boil without stirring until light golden brown. Add 1 Tblsp butter and 2 cups salted nuts (add 1/4 tsp salt if using unsalted nuts). Reduce heat to low. Stir 1 minute. Add 1 tsp soda. Turn out on buttered cookie sheet. After it is cool, break into pieces. Store in covered tins.
