Microwave Caramels

1/2 cup butter |
1/2 cup brown sugar |
1/2 cup granulated sugar |
1/2 cup Karo syrup |
1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk |
1/2 cup walnuts (optional) |
Put all ingredients except nuts in microwaveable bowl. Cook 3 minutes in microwave. Stir well. Cook 3 more minutes. Pour in buttered pan. Cool; then cut and wrap. (Microwave time may vary according to wattage.) Cook less time for softer caramels and up to 2 minutes more for firmer caramels. This recipe from Holly Memmott, Jonna's friend.
