Microwave Caramel Popcorn

1 cup brown sugar | 1/2 tsp salt |
1/2 cup butter | 1/2 tsp baking soda |
1/4 cup Karo syrup | 4 quarts popped corn |
Combine sugar, butter, syrup, and salt in microwaveable bowl large enough to allow for expansion in boiling (I use 5-cup Pyrex measuring cup). Microwave until mixture begins to boil (abt 1 minute). Stir; cook 2 minutes longer; add soda and stir. Pour syrup over popcorn in large plastic bowl that fits in microwave and stir to mix. Microwave for 1 minute in bowl. Pour onto waxed paper on counter.
