2 cups sugar
1 cup water
2/3 cup white syrup


Combine sugar, water, and syrup. Cook to 275 degrees (between soft crack and hard crack stages). Remove from stove and add coloring. Add 1/2 tsp oil flavor such as cloves, cinnamon, anise (licorice), wintergreen, or peppermint. Pour mixture on aluminum foil-lined 9 x 13-inch pan. As it starts to cool, mark into rectangles or squares. After it is cool, put on waxed paper and break into pieces.
