3 cups sugar | 1 tsp salt |
1 cup Karo syrup | 2 tsp butter |
1/3 cup water | 2 tsp soda |
3 cups raw peanuts |
In heavy pan combine sugar, syrup,and water. Cook and stir until it reaches 240 degrees to dissolve sugar. Add peanuts and salt. Cook to 295 degrees stirring constantly. Remove from heat; add butter and soda. Stir. Pour evenly onto buttered slab or pan. Cool partially and turn candy so it will look the same on both sides. When cold, break into pieces.
