1 cup sugar 1/2 cup +2 Tblsp butter
1 cup mashed potatoes 3/4 cup water
1 tsp salt 3 Tblsp yeast
2 beaten eggs 2 cups scalded milk
6-8 cups flour

Mix together and knead lightly. Makes a soft dough. Keep dough in a pan of warm water. Rise, knead, roll out, spread with melted butter, nutmeg, brown sugar, cinnamon, chopped nuts, raisins (if desired). Roll up in roll. Cut with a thread. Put in greased pans. Let rise double. Bake 10-12 minutes at 350 degrees. Frost or glaze as desired.
