2 cups sugar | 1 tsp cinnamon |
2 cups water | 1 tsp cloves |
2 cups vinegar | 1 tsp allspice |
Blend ingredients to make pickling syrup. Cook beets until tender. Cool and slip skins. Cover beets with pickling syrup and boil for 10 minutes. Seal in clean, hot jars. (Hannah Barney's recipe adds 1 Tblsp salt to syrup). This is Grant's favorite pickled beets recipe.
