How to Use Bleaching Trays
- Brush your teeth before applying the trays.
- Put only a small dot of gel on each of the front eight or ten teeth in each tray. Too much gel may cause irritation to your gums.
- If you get bleach on your gums, clean off the excess with tissue or cotton swab. It can temporarily bleach your gums.
- Wear for 30 minutes a day, once a day, for two weeks.
- After bleaching, remove the residual gel from your teeth with a soft bristle toothbrush and warm water.
- Clean out your trays with a toothbrush and warm water.
- Store at room temperature, out of light and away from hot objects (i.e. curling irons, hair dryers, etc.) Keep away from animals - they like to eat the trays.
- If any sensitivity occurs, stop bleaching for a day or two, then continue. It is usually the front bottom teeth that become sensitive first.
- After the two week period, touch up as necessary.
- If you are a heavy coffee drinker or cigarette user the bleaching will take longer and discoloring will return sooner.
- If you would like more gel you can purchase additional tubes of bleach.
